Where are we located?

The Lexington Farmers Market is located in the historic train depot at 129 S. Railroad Street, a few blocks from Uptown Lexington.

What items can be sold here?

Our goal is for everything sold at the farmers market to be grown, raised, made, or baked by the vendors selling those items - or sourced as locally as possible. Farmers, bakers, and artisan crafters must live in Davidson County or a county that touches Davidson County (with exceptions for products not available in our region, as determined by the market manager with board approval).

How do I become a vendor?

You must complete an approval process before becoming a vendor. Farmers must be certified by the Cooperative Extension. Crafters must be approved by the market manager. Please see our website for details.

What type of produce is available for sale?

All produce is grown locally, so availability depends on the season. Over the year, you an expect to find heirloom tomatoes, corn, many kinds of squash, lettuce and other greens, green beans, cucumbers, peppers, sweet potatoes, fresh herbs, blueberries, strawberries, watermelons, cantaloupe, and sometimes peaches and apples, and much more! If you have more questions about specific varieties, please come talk to the farmers at the market with your requests!

What type of vendors do you allow at the market?

All vendors must be local farmers, bakers, or artisan crafters selling their own products, with very limited exceptions. Please see our website for specific details

Do you take SNAP EBT?

Yes, we accept SNAP EBT. Please swipe your EBT card with the market manager, who will give you tokens to spend with participating vendors (most food vendors will accept the tokens). This system allows the market to cover the processing fees for our farmers.

What vendors will be at the market this week?

Please follow our social media accounts and email newsletters for updates week to week. We also encourage you to follow your favorite vendors directly!

Do you take credit card payments?

Most of our vendors accept credit and debit cards and many will have booth signs explaining what they accept, including Venmo and CashApp...please ask each individual vendor is you have questions about what forms of payment they accept.

Do farmers have to have a growers certificate to sell at the market?

Yes, farmers must be certified by a local Cooperative Extensions agent to participate in the Farmers Market. See our website for details.
